Isabella Lenchik is a director and screenwriter whose work spans comedy, horror-comedy, documentary, and character-driven narrative film. She gravitates toward stories that blend humor with emotional specificity, often exploring characters who navigate the world a little offbeat, out of place, or in transition. Her films highlight the small, revealing moments that shape who people are, whether in a family dynamic, a friendship, or an unexpected situation.

Cinema was Isabella’s first teacher, showing her what growing up was supposed to look like, but it rarely reflected the reality of queer adolescence she was navigating. For years, she searched for stories that centered characters like her, not as sidelines or tragedies, but as fully realized people. That search now fuels the direction of her current work.
Her upcoming short film Crush marks a shift toward telling the stories she needed growing up, bringing visibility and nuance to queer girlhood in all its messy, funny, and emotionally honest complexity.
Isabella is currently pursuing her BFA in Film & Television at the Savannah College of Art and Design, concentrating in directing and screenwriting. Across genres and formats, she remains committed to creating films that approach with authenticity, curiosity, and heart.
